The charter application for Sarasota Military Academy Prep was approved by the School Board of Sarasota County at the October 15, 2013 meeting. Pursuant to Florida Statute 1002.33, representatives from Sarasota Military Academy Prep and school district staff have negotiated a charter to serve as the agreement between the organizations. Sarasota Military Academy Prep is scheduled to open in August 2014 as a grade 6-8 school. The negotiated charter is now complete and ready for Board consideration and approval.
